 Hello Friends, today I will be discussing another dilemma that we freelancers face is the "Synonym". Yup, all my peeps will agree to that. Especially when we are writing for the same niche for years. This is the time when we need synonyms the most. what new words to use to write the same things again and again. 

For me, this happened when I was writing for a logistics company for a few years. I wrote about many aspects of their business. But after writing the first 100 posts, I felt as if I was writing the same words again and again. So, to make it unique and original, I tried what we all do before we understand better... I looked up for the synonyms of the words I wanted to change. But after doing so I had a guilt trip as if the Thesaurus will come to take revenge on me. I felt as if I was the Wizard of Oz..... you know the cheating part. But I always feel like that when I am searching for work. And when I am doing the job I feel like Mary Poppins! you know the all intelligent and know it all part!

So we all have been there with the synonyms and similar words. But I remember one thing very prominently from all these experiences, that whenever I tried to do something other than my style, I was unsuccessful. The piece I wrote using synonyms to sound smart were the pieces that felt like fluff pieces. Whenever I wrote in my own style, with confidence no matter how many times I used the same word, my article would be a success with the client and with myself as well.

Maybe the point that I am trying so desperately and clumsily make is that don't stop being yourself. Maybe you will face failures at first, have set back or difficulty in finding work. But you will get there in the end. Plus, the stress and guilt of writing a bad article can make you lose faith in yourself and your abilities. So, if you like me, are currently finding it difficult to constantly search for work, then blame it on the COVID 19, bad economy, stale market, etc. Don't take the fall where it is not required. Stand tall as such days will pass too. And if not then we have the synonyms to fill our days with fluff pieces till the special wow article comes our way!
